MUMBAI: While shooting a song sequence in Hampi temple with actors Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and 50 other dancers, Director Prabhu Deva was obstructed by locals who objected to the movie being shot in the area.
The issue was that the shooting was being done in a ‘protected zone’. The film unit arrived with 20 heavy vehicles. Local leaders objected to the government allowing filming in a protected zone. The protesters then approached Karnataka Film Artistes Association alleging that Deva had violated the law by not employing 30% of the workforce from the state.
When they insisted that he utilise their services, Deva packed up and left.
