MUMBAI: Ramesh Sippy and Rakesh Sippy will release the Sanjay Gupta-Balaji film Shootout At Lokhandwala, under the Raksh Distributors banner on 25 June 2007 in the Bombay circuit.
Sources say the film will be released in Bombay with over 200 prints which include UFOs, DLPs and E-City Digital prints. A chain of over 100 single screen and multiplexes has also been booked by the distributors, it is learnt.
The film is based on a true story of police officer Aftab Ahmad Khan’s encounter with five members of Dawood Ibrahim’s underworld gang. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Tusshar Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan with Suniel Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan in special appearances. TV stars Rohit Roy and Shabbir Ahluwalia also feature in the film.
