MUMBAI: India’s favourite ‘bahu’ (daughter-in-law) Smriti Irani aka the ex-Tulsi of Balaji Telefilm’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has become aggressive on the production front with her label, Ugraya Productions. After television production, the actor turned producer is now eyeing the silver screen.
The actor-producer has already spread her wings in the television space with shows like Virrudh and Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman. Irani is also readying two shows for the upcoming channels of INX media, one of them falling into the reality genre. Now Irani is eyeing the big screen as well and has already started work on that front.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Irani says, “Yes, Ugraya Productions will be producing films in the coming time and we have already roped in a big name from Bollywood for the film venture. That’s all I can share at the moment.”
