Star Gold involves film frat in comedy honours

MUMBAI: Movie channel Star Gold has announced a special advisory panel, comprising eminent members of the Hindi film fraternity, which will shortlist talent in the field of comic excellence.


The selected artistes will be honoured in a ceremony to be held in Mumbai at the end of April 2007, says the channel. Among the panelists are Kundan Shah, maker of films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa, producer Vashu Bhagnani and filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor.


As a part of the channel’s Comedy Honors, the Star Network will also conduct a poll of the All Time Greatest Comedy Films. The advisory panel will shortlist ten movies and  viewers from around the world will get a chance to vote for their favourite movie with a comic theme. The most popular movie will enter the permanent Star Gold Comedy Hall Of Fame, says a release.
