Confirming the development to Businessofcinema.com, The Indian Film Company and Studio 18 CEO Sandeep Bhargava says, "There has been a lot of growth in the entertainment sector and a lot of companies have opened up, so talent movement is bound to be there. Chitra has been a part of the company since its early days and we wish her the very best."

Subramaniam joined the company in September 2006. As a part of her work, she facilitated various projects for Studio 18, including movies with Priyadarshan, Sanjay Gadhvi, Anurag Basu, Anurag Kashyap, Onir and Sooni Taraporewala.
