MUMBAI: The 4th of July weekend will see Will Smith’s new superhero film Hancock being released in India along with Harry Baweja’s sci-fi flick Love Story 2050.
Hancock is produced by Sony Pictures and also stars Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman. On the other hand, Love Story 2050 will see the debut of actor Harman Baweja. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani.
Hancock is the story of an Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic and misunderstood guy, Hancock (Will Smith), whose well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy.
Hancock isn’t the kind of man who cares what other people think, until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock’s greatest challenge yet – and a task that may prove impossible as Ray’s wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), insists that he’s a lost cause.
An action genre film with a budget of over $150 million, Hanock has been directed by Peter Burg. Smith is also one of the producers of the film.
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) will be distributing Hancock in India.
