MUMBAI: Bollywood star Sushmita Sen will team up with Hollywood actor Ashley Judd for a National Geographic documentary that aims to raise global awareness of HIV in India.
The documentary is being made by PSI India, a non profit organisation working in the areas of health and women’s empowerment. While Judd is PSI’s global ambassador, Sen has been closely involved in issues related to women empowerment in the country, says an official release.
The film, to be made this March, will explore why women are particularly vulnerable for HIV infection in India.
Says PSI India managing director Tim McLellan, “We are honoured that Sushmita Sen has agreed to partner Ashley Judd in this documentary film for National Geographic channel. She is known for her commitment to women empowerment and this film is all about women empowerment and HIV/Aids awareness.”
