MUMBAI: Director Tanuja Chandra, who started her career with the TV series Zameen Aasmaan and chose a hard hitting subject for her debut feature film – Dushman, is now set to direct a romantic film.
Chandra has signed actor Rajeev Khandelwal in the lead for the film, which will be produced by Anuj Saxena’s Maverick Productions.
The romantic film is being written by her mother and renowned writer Kamna Chandra, who has previously written hit films like Prem Rog and Chandini.
At the time of filing this story Tanuja was unavailable for comment. However, Kamna Chandra tells Businessofcinema.com, "Tanuja will soon be directing a romantic film that I am writing. As you all know that I mostly write love stories, this one too is a love story. We have finalized Rajeev Khandelwal as the male lead but we are yet to decide the rest of the cast. We are in the process of getting the cast in place."
The film will go on floors by the end of the year and should be ready for release by 2011.
