Thackeray accepts Bachchan’s apology, Last Lear to release

MUMBAI: Post the public apology given by Amitabh Bachchan on 10 September at a press conference on behalf of his wife Jaya Bachchan; MNS chief Raj Thackeray has accepted the apology.

As a result of this, Bachchan starrer The Last Lear will now have an uninterrupted release in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra. The advance bookings of the film too will open today. 
 
The distributors of The Last Lear – PVR – inform that the film will release uninterrupted. The release strategy will remain the same as earlier. Even though the film has gained mileage in the course of this controversy, there are no plans to increase the print count in Mumbai city.

Planman Motion Pictures CEO Shubho Shekhar Bhattarcharji says, "We are glad that we will be able to release The Last lear in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra. Mumbai city was one of our most important territories and we were expecteing approximately 30 per cent of out total revenues to come from Mumbai. But it is unfortunate that the premiere had to be cancelled."
