MUMBAI: On 13 August The Expendables will hit Indian theaters. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and Steve Austin. The film is a tribute to the action films of the 1980s and early ’90s.
Distributed by Rajat Enterprises, an independent distributor in India, and written by Dave Callaham and Sylvester Stallone, the film is an action/thriller about a group of mercenaries (led by Sylvester Stallone) hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator (David Zayas). Once the mission begins, the men realize things aren’t quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge, one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.
Speaking on the all-India release of the film, Ranjan Singh said, “We would be releasing the film in more than 400 screens (English & Hindi) all over the country. It is our first offering in India as independent distributors and we hope to bring many such films in the future.”
