MUMBAI: Tips Industries has appointed Sahas Malhotra as senior vice president and business head of music.
Prior to joining Tips, Malhotra served as director – digital and new business development at Sony Music Entertainment India. He headed the company’s strategic business units of digital, media planning, buying, licensing, syndication and publishing.
Malhotra will drive the music business of Tips across physical and non-physical revenue streams, globally. He will be based in Mumbai and report to Tips Industries chairman and managing director Kumar Taurani.
Taurani said, "With Sahas’s vast and successful track record in the areas of digital, broadcast, licensing and understanding of repertoire, Tips is confident of growing into an even more powerful player in the music business."
Malhotra added, "The music catalog of Tips is a goldmine. Music of the 90s belongs to Tips with mega hits like Raja Hindustani, Taal, Mann, Raaz and many others. Add to this the successful track record of Tips’ recent releases like Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Race, Prince and Mel Karade Rabba, the company is well positioned to fully participate in the dynamic opportunities in the broad spectrum of music entertainment."
