MUMBAI: 3D and 2D animation training facility Toonz Academy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an affiliation with the Anna University, Coimbatore for its various animation courses. Toonz Academy is the training division of the award winning Toonz Animation Studios, Technopark, Kerala.
Under the MOU, Toonz Academy can offer Anna University approved and endorsed Certificate, Undergraduate, Graduate and/or Post Graduate Program in Animation and Digital Technology at Centres run by Toonz or through other Toonz/University affiliate centres across India and abroad.
The MOU also entitles setting up of an Animation Centre of Excellence (ACE) by Toonz in the jurisdiction of the University. It has also been agreed upon to introduce animation and/or digital technology as electives for the BE/B.Tech courses currently conducted by the University and moving ahead explore possibilities of setting up a world class Film and Media School in the jurisdiction of the University.
"We are happy to be associated with a prestigious institute run by a world famous animation studio. This affiliation would serve in extending the industry endorsed academic programmes and training practices to the students across India. I am hopeful that this would serve as a platform for better Industry- Academia tie-ups in the future," said Anna University Coimbatore vice chancellor Dr. R. Radhakrishnan.
