MUMBAI: T-Series, which is now stepping up on film production, has bought the remake rights of Subhash Ghai’s superhit film Karz.
What’s more, singer turned actor Himesh Resahmmiya has been roped in for the lead role in the film, which was essayed by Rishi Kapoor in the original.
While Subhash Ghai will not be directing the remake, the hunt for a director for the new Karz is on. Plans are to release the movie in August next year.
Apart from Kapoor, the original film also starred Tina Munim, Simi Garewal, Raj Kiran, Prem Nath, Pran and Mac Mohan amongst others.
The superhit music of the film was given by Laxmikant – Pyarelal.
