MUMBAI: With remakes reigning as the order the day, Karzzzz is the latest to enter the bandwagon with a star cast comprising Himmesh Reshammiya and debutante Shweta Kumar. The movie, which is being directed by Satish Kaushik, is currently shooting at locations like the Emperors Palace, the Lagoon Beach etc., in Johannesburg.
The film is being made on a budget of Rs 250 – Rs 300 million. The cast and crew will then head to Cape Town followed by Kenya and Mumbai. The team has an extensive shooting schedule till the end of March.
Reshammiya is playing the character reborn as a rock star. Kumar, daughter of director Inder Kumar is the female lead.
The other star-cast of this film includes Raj Babbar, Danny Denzongpa, Gulshan Grover, Urmila Matondkar and Rohini Hatangadi.
T-Series has bought the remake rights from Mukta Arts for the original film Karz directed by Subhash Ghai. The original film had a star cast of Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim and Simi Garewal.
