Mumbai: UTV Spotboy has signed debutant director Mukul Abhyankar to make two films under the banner.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, UTV Spotboy COO Vikas Bahl says, "We have signed Mukul to direct for our banner. One of the films will go on floors towards the end of the year."
Abhyankar’s first film is a comedy titled Ram Leela. Anurag Kashyap will be the creative director on the film, whereas Shankar Ehsaan Loy will compose the music. Scripting of the film is currently underway. "The film has its own kind of scale and is very well written. We will decide the star cast of the film in about a month’s time," informs Bahl.
The budget of the film will be decided once the star cast is finalised.
The details of Abhyankar’s second film with UTV Spotboy are yet being chalked out.
Abhyankar has been scripting and directing television serials. Some of the serials he’s directed are Gubbare, Amanat, Aao Bahen Chugli Karen, Achanak and Tadap amongst others. On the other hand, currently he’s also scripting the Supriya Pathak-Deven Bhojani serial Remote Control for 9X.
