UTV’s Ignition appoints Chadha as US prez

MUMBAI: Software game developer and publisher Ignition Entertainment, in which Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV Software Communication has a 70 per cent controlling share, has appointed Ajay Chadha as president of its US operations.

The appointment is the result of Ignition’s ongoing growth effort and is effective immediately.

Chadha founded Ignition Entertainment along with his brother, Vijay Chadha, in April 2002, and until recently held the position of sales director; responsible for the company’s worldwide sales and distribution.

In his new role as president of the US operations, Chada will focus on securing software titles for US distribution as well as identifying software development partners. Prior to starting Ignition, he was one of the founding members of Planet Distribution where he developed and directed all European sales and distribution channels.

The synergy of incoming expertise with UTV presents Ignition Entertainment with many opportunities within the movie and entertainment arena.

Ignition Entertainment has offices in the USA, UK and Japan. Ignition has created its series of Mercury titles, which will culminate this summer with the Mercury Meltdown Revolution for the Wii.
