MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ next venture, Goal, starring John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Arshad Warsi will go on the floors in two weeks in the UK.
The film, to be directed by Vivek Agnihotri, will be shot in the UK within four months. “Since the film is based on the game of football, the team will be required to shoot in various stadia in the UK. Goal also stars two children, who were selected from the John Aur Kaun contest (run recently by Hungama channel),” says UTV vice president marketing and communications Siddharth Roy Kapoor.
John and Bipasha have together trained in Mumbai for more than a month under the guidance of soccer player Andy Ansah, who has been a football consultant on various international films and television series.
“Goal is a story about the South Asian football league team in the UK that undergoes various trials and tribulations to achieve their goal. It’s about the hero that lies dormant in all of us and if given a chance to shine, comes through,” says Kapoor.
UTV has struck up an association with sports accessories company Reebok for the film. “From designing the shoelaces to the uniforms, Reebok has been actively involved with the film from its inception in order to give it an authentic look,” adds Roy.
