MUMBAI: Viacom18 has launched its Hindi entertainment channel Colors and music channel MTV India in Singapore to tap into the Southeast Asian population familiar with Bollywood entertainment.
Colors will be available on both StarHub and SingTel’s mio TV platform while MTV will only be available on the mio TV platform. The content for the Singapore audiences will remain the same, and will telecast as per the Singapore timing.
The launch is part of Viacom18’s aggressive growth plans to extend our flagship brand outside India.
The Singapore launch follows Viacom18’s foray in the US, UK and Middle East markets.
Viacom18 group CEO and Colors chief Rajesh Kamat said, "After our successful launches in the US, UK and the Middle East, we are pleased to now partner with SingTel and StarHub to offer the best of entertainment to our viewers in Singapore. The launch is part of Viacom18’s aggressive growth plans to extend our flagship brand outside India."
The company is now planning to set foot in Malaysia over the next six-to-eight months.
