Jodi No.1; the dance show that rocked Tamil Nadu is back in its second season. Jodi no 1 part 2 on Vijay TV launches on the 8 pm band Fridays and Saturdays as the hugely popular Airtel Super Singer Junior draws to a close.
Jodi No. 1 season one was an entertaining and thrilling competition launched in October 2006. The show was launched amidst much hype and supported with a marketing blitzkrieg. This was the first time in Tamil television that the viewers got to see their favorite TV stars in a new avatar.
The show witnessed 4 real life couples and 4 reel life couples put on their dancing shoes; facing moments of high tension, jubilation and exhilaration over 13 weeks. While the eminent panel of judges comprising of dance master Kala, popular actor Prashanth and the ravishing Ramya Krishnan chose the two finalists. The third finalist was chosen by the viewers themselves.
Prem and Pooja; the winners of the wild card round were adjudged the champions of Jodi No.1 by the audiences. This reel life couple won the coveted title of Jodi No.1 and walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs. Apart from the title and the prize money; these stars became superstars overnight with a larger than life fan following.
Promoted across various mediums; the show was an astounding success. The show had a huge fan following online as well; as the jodis interacted with the audiences on forums and various blog sites.
The show that had Tamil audiences grooving to its tunes and changed the face of Tamil television Jodi No.1 was clearly the favorite among all audiences. As the competition heated up and with eliminations every week; ratings climbed as the preliminary rounds scored an average TVR of 11.2 in Chennai and 8.7 in Tamilnadu (source: TAM; ABC 15+F; from 28th Oct to 2nd Dec, 2006) The wild card episode with the six eliminated couples fighting it out for the third spot in the finals procured 36.6% shares for Vijay TV in Chennai leading the market (source: TAM; ABC 15+F; Dec 9, 2006). The 2 hour grand finale garnered 34.8% channel shares (source: TAM; Chennai; ABC 15+F; Dec 30, 2006) as the curtains were drawn on the show which had audiences glued to their television sets for 13 exciting weeks.

Jodi No.1 – Part 2 would be a 13 week power packed action with reality episodes on Fridays and the studio episodes on Saturdays with exceptional performances and peppered with celebrity guests.
