Walt Disney India MD Rajat Jain quits

MUMBAI: Walt Disney India managing director Rajat Jain has quit the organisation. According to an official statement, Jain has decided to leave the company to pursue new opportunities.


Jain has been with Disney since the last three years.


Walt Disney International president Andy Bird said, “Rajat came in at the very start and has laid a strong foundation for growth for The Walt Disney Company in India. We would like to thank Rajat for his role in establishing the business to where it is today, and wish him well in his future endeavors.”


“International expansion and growth of the Disney brand in India is a key priority for the company. We see enormous opportunity to accelerate the growth of our Indian business to its next chapter in this exciting region,” he added.


Jain said, “Working at Disney has been an exciting phase in my career. We built the business ground up and today have a significant presence in television, merchandise and licensing, and all other businesses have been established. It has been very rewarding to play a role in launching The Walt Disney Company in India. I want to thank my management team for their dedication and support in building the business to where it is today.”


Jain will be working with Andy Bird to oversee management of The Walt Disney Company in India until a new appointment is made.


Prior to joining Disney, Jain was headed Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India’s movies and events channel Max.
