Two weeks prior to Diwali there was a scramble among makers to release films; a total of 7 films were released. Tanuja Chandra’s Zindaggi Rocks managed to register 35 to 40 per cent collections in multiplex cinemas in Bombay.Shotgun Movies’ Mera Dil Leke Dekho registered 25 to 35 per cent collection all over on the opening day while J-71 Entertainment’s Iqraar – By Chance too was a non-starter at the box-office.

Although both the BSE and NSE indices were marginally in the red, NDTV Media was up a neat 5.14%. Closing at 233.50 up Rs 11.40 from the previous days close the stock closed marginally lower than the stock’s intra day high of Rs 234.50. Also showing strength was SaReGaMa India, which was up by Rs 7.90 at Rs 196.50 close to its day high of 197.60. UTV, Shringar, Zee Telefilms, Mukta Arts and Adlabs all showed marginal gains, while the biggest losers on the bourses were Reliance Communication and Prime Focus, which were both down by Rs 6.25 and Rs 5.60 respectively.
