MUMBAI: Digital imaging company Canon India has promoted Alok Bharadwaj as senior vice president. Canon India recorded its best-ever growth of 35 per cent in 2007 under Bharadwaj’s leadership.
In his new position, Bharadwaj will be responsible for leading the overall performance of five business divisions of the company. The mandate is to be in the number one position across various product categories, thus further strengthening the Canon brand in India. Prior to this, Bharadwaj was Canon India vice president.
In his six year of tenure at Canon India, Bharadwaj has been the driving force behind the sales, marketing, PR and brand building activities of Canon. Bharadwaj joined Canon as a director in 2001 to head the Printer products division called Consumer Systems products.
As the senior vice president, Bharadwaj would now also be heading the fifth business division of Corporate Sales – Consumer Imaging and Information division. This new division will be responsible for connecting to the top 100 corporate accounts across the country.
