MUMBAI: Actor Will Smith has topped the Forbes list of Hollywood’s best paid actors with a total of $80 million over the course of the year.
Over the last year, Smith has had successful box office releases like I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happyness, and most recently Hancock. As per Forbes, Smith is the first actor in Hollywood history to have eight movies eclipse $100 million at the box office.
Following Smith in the list is Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp with $72 million this year. Depp’s film releases in 2007 were Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Flat Street.
Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers share the third spot in Forbes list with $55 million. Murphy’s last year releases were DreamWorks’ Shrek, Norbit and Dreamgirls. Murphy’s latest flick Meet Dave will see him in the garb of an alien. On the other hand, Myers had Shrek and the controversial The Love Guru to his credit.
Leonardo DiCaprio stands on the fifth spot raking in $45 million during the year. DiCaprio had to his credit The Departed last year, which won the Oscar for Best Picture.
Bruce Willis bagged the sixth spot with $41 million. His releases were Live Free or Die Hard, which grossed $380 million. Ben Stiller is at seventh spot with $40 million. His last year’s films included The Heartbreak Kid, Night at the Museum 2 and Tropic Thunder.
Nicolas Cage stands eighth with $38 million and had to his credit National Treasure, Book of Secrets, which grossed $450 million. He also produced and starred in Bangkok Dangerous.
Will Ferrell with $31 million is at ninth spot, whereas Adam Sandler with $30 million is at the tenth spot on the Forbes list.
