MUMBAI: In collaboration with the distributors of the film, WEG Entertainment, movie channel Zee Studio will premiere the Oscar award-winning film Vicky Cristina Barcelona on 24 September at PVR Cinemas, Juhu, Mumbai. The film will also be aired on Zee Studio in the months to come.
Directed by the legendary Woody Allen, Vicky Cristina Barcelona follows two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Spain who get enamored by the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture. Starring actors Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem and Rebecca Hall, the film released in the United States last year to a grand opening and was well-received by the critics. Apart from fetching Penelope Cruz the Oscar award for Best Supporting Actress, the film has been nominated at and won a slew of awards including the BAFTA and the New York Critics Circle award.
