A. R. Rahman Announces Roadtrip Gigs In India

The 'Mozart Of Madras' – A. R. Rahman – has announced a roadtrip in India for the month of October where he will perform some of his famous numbers.

MUMBAI: Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman has announced an Indian roadtrip in the month of October where he will perform some of his famous songs. The tour will be called ‘Rahmanishq’.

A. R. Rahman says that this tour is specifically for his fans. “It is always fun and exciting to perform for fans. It will be an experience of music, joy and fun. I think everything has a right time. And it is so good that this is happening now. Three years back I didn’t even know my future,” A. R. Rahman said.

The composer also wants to celebrate his music with his fans. “I want to closely interact with my fans while we celebrate my music on the tour. We are a great prosperous musical nation and tours like these are a great way to rekindle the connect with the audiences on a more personalised level,” he added.

‘Rahmanishq’ will comprise of A. R. Rahman singing hits from his films such as ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Dil Se’, ‘Bombay’, ‘Roja’ and recent hits like ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. He will also be joined by singers such as Javed Ali, Neeti Mohan, Sweta Pandit and Harshdeep Kaur, among others for the concerts.

The concert will start not in India, though. A. R. Rahman will present his technologically advanced concert in Sydney, Australia on 24 August. Then after a month’s break, the concert will start on 1 October at Kolkata, followed by Vishakhapatnam (12 October), Jaipur (20 October) and ends at Ahmedabad (27 October).

A. R. Rahman hopes to spread the message of peace, friendship and happiness through his music. We are sure he will be successful.
