NEW YORK: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was spotted promoting his new film ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ in New York along with his director Milan Luthria.
Akshay Kumar plays a gangster called Shoaib in the film which is a sequel to the 2010 hit ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’. The character Shoaib is rumoured to be based on Dawood Ibrahim. In relation to this, Akshay Kumar said, “I am not trying to glorify a bad lead character in the film. It is just a character I am playing. Not many actors now agree to play a negative role.”
“Bad is the new good,” the actor said. “I very much enjoyed playing the beautiful character.”
Akshay Kumar was seen at the promotion in a simple white t-shirt and black trousers while his director Milan Luthria wore a black blazer over his yellow shirt and grey trousers.
‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ is being released by Balaji Motion Pictures, and also stars Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha alongside Akshay Kumar. The film releases on the Independence Day weekend, 15 August, 2013.
