[tps_footer]After the much hyped controversy between the Bachchans and Shah Rukh Khan, there was relief for fans on Monday November 10,2014 when the two of them came together for opening of Kolkatta Film Festival (KIFF).
The 20th Kolkatta International Film Festival saw some amalgamation of politicians and famous Bollywood celebrities sharing the stage for its grand opening.
It was all glittery in the Netaji Indoor Stadium where the audience were star struck with presence of Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. This is India’s second oldest movie fest that was inaugurated on Monday (November 10).
Mamata Banerjee had gifted her guest stoles, which they obliged to and draped around them during the inauguration. The whole Bachchan family Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were all present at event. They were the highlights of the evening as they added the glamour and entertainment to the whole event.
The most exciting part of the evening was Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan were seen hugging each other putting aside the recent rumors to rest. Also when they lighted the lamp for the evening, Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan followed them on stage.
There was lot of fun as Shah Rukh Khan shared his likeness for the city Kolkatta and advised everyone to try the special sweets of the city. The Bachchans too shared their stories and revealed how their roots are deep dwelled in the city Kolkatta. The evening had some magical music performances by Bickram Ghosh, Rashid Khan and Usha Uthup.
Emminent filmmakers Amol Palekar and Shoojit Sircar were also present at the ceremony. Among the International delegates Paul Cox, an ace Australian film director also graced the event. All in all it was one starry evening filled with joy, love and happiness.
