Farhan Akhtar And Kiran Rao At Mumbai Film Festival

Farhan-Kiran-08[tps_footer]Press meet for 16th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF) was launched this year in Mumbai on Wednesday. The press meet of the Mumbai Film Festival on Wednesday witnessed Farhan Akhtar, Kiran Rao, Anurag Kashyap, Anupama Chopra, Vikramaditya Motwane, Hansal Mehta and Amit Khanna.

They were seen unveiling their poster. The week-long festival, going to be held from October 14 to 21 this year, is organised by Mumbai Academy of Moving Image. It will be held at PVR Cinemas, which will be the main venue, while Liberty Cinemas at Marine Lines will be used as the satellite venue. The festival is expected to screen over 185 films from above 65 countries. The press event also revealed that the Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to Helen and French actress Catherine Deneuve for their outstanding contribution to the field of cinema.

Apart from the stylish waist bands, Farhan Akhtar carried a casual look with a grey tee and a pair of denims. In contrast, Kiran Rao wore stripped grey kaftan dress paired up with a funky scarf. She also said, “The festival has come a long way, so please spread the word and come for our support. The festival is back and it is our responsibility that we maintain its high standard.”

This year’s line up include Xavier Dolans’ Mommy, Mike Leighs’ Mr Turner, Ken Loachs’ Jimmy Hall, Richard Linklaters’ Boyhood, Dardenn brothersTwo Days One Night, Kim Ki Duks’ One on One, Yoji Yamadas’ The Little House, Jean Luc Godards’ Goodbye to Language and Marie Amachoukeli Barsacqs’ Party Girl.

Special master classes by internationally acclaimed cinematographer Christopher Doyle and director cum writer Mahamat Saleh Haroun will be organised.[/tps_footer]
