Prateeksha was the first house purchased by megastar in the city of dreams where he used to live with his family. Later after years, he moved on to his present bungalow Jalsa with his wife Jaya Bachchan, and children’. After Abhishek’s marriage, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and their daughter, Aaradhya were the latest addition to the Bachchan family.

Big B is very much fond of his pet dog, Shanouk who also leaves with them at the Jalsa residence. Jalsa is a large 10,125 sq ft double storied lovely house and is worth crores of rupees with hug lawn. Big B also has very big connection with his ancestral bungalow Prateeksha and so Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding also took place at ‘Prateeksha’.

Apparently, Jalsa was a gift for Amitabh from director of the 1982 film Satte Pe Satta, Ramesh Sippy as payment. Presently, all the functions and celebrations are done at their bungalow Jalsa. Apart from Prateeksha and Jalsa, the Bachchan family also owns a house ‘Janak’, which is primarily used as a workplace area for Amitabh Bachchan. Apparently, Amitabh Bachchan has also bought another lavish bungalow near by to his present bungalow Jalsa.
