The actress is known for her bold statements and different approach towards everything. The ‘Queen’ actress attended television journalist and columnist Barkha Dutt’s book launch where she spoke about her abusive past which stunned everyone.

During the press conference, Kangana Ranaut sat down and had one-to-one conversation with Barkha Dutt. She spoke about the struggles during the early days in Bollywood and that it wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. The feisty actress revealed that she was physically abused by someone from the film industry. Kangana said “It was quite difficult and it is still harsh. I don’t have to go into details of it. I felt trapped. I was physically abused. I don’t want to take names.” Barkha Dutt asked “Was it someone from the film industry?” Kangana said “Yeah. People you went to see. You feel people might help you. But there are no free lunches, right? But when you are naive and young, you do fall for it.”

On Barkha’s much prodding, Kangana finally shared some details about the incident. She said “This man who was my father’s age hit me hard on my head when I was 17. I started bleeding. I took out my sandal and hit his head hard and he started to bleed too. I lodged an FIR against the man.”
Barkha Dutt also asked whether the man who physically abused her was caught by police. To this Kangana said “He wasn’t punished. He was warned and told to stop stalking me. I had never really tested myself before in such extreme situations”.

At the book launch, Kangana looked gorgeous in a black and white strapless skirt and top, which she paired with silver sandals. On work front, the actress is shooting for her next film ‘Rangoon’ with Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
