Mary Kom: Bollywood Goes Digital With Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka-03[tps_footer]Priyanka Chopra and Darshan Kumar are celebrating the success of their release Mary Kom which hit the theatres last week. They were seen in an event held by Reliance Digital, on the basis of an online contest named Bollywood goes Digital. Priyanka and Darshan came to the event not only to promote their film, but also to support Give India foundation, the largest online donation model, that deals with the girl child cause through the competition held.

The event was open to both media and their fans. As far as the competition was concerned, the winner got red gloves signed by Priyanka. It was a great opportunity for the fans to talk to their idols, and the lucky ones got to share the stage with them as well.

Darshan has made his debut with the film. He said in an interview that the ‘women centric’ film will not affect him much. Priyanka thinks that the movie was made not for women power, but gender equality.

In the event, Priyanka Chopra opted for a casual look by wearing grey yoga pants, a Dupac top (the late rapper she most adored) and a dark grey overcoat. To add some glamour, she wore a bead-studded necklace, matching blue sunglasses and one-sided golden-brown hair. Darshan too opted for a casual look, but he wanted it to look more like a serious wear, hence he wore a pink t-shirt and a zipped military coloured over jacket.
Priyanka Chopra is known to take up challenging roles, and she also mentioned in the event that every movie taught her something new.
a) ‘Fashion’ taught her to keep her head on her shoulders
b) ‘Barfi’ taught her that acceptance of everybody being different
c) She ended by humorously saying that ‘Mary Kom’ taught her that nobody can mess with her.
Darshan Kumar also mentioned that he would love to follow her footsteps and look for different, strong roles in every movie he gets.
Priyanka Chopra believes that Mary Kom is a movie for the youth and she would be glad to perform a biopic on Kiran Bedi, the first woman police officer.
Mary Kom is a biopic made on the life story of the Olympic medallist and 5 time world champion M C Mary Kom. It is directed by Omung Kumar.
