Deepika Padukone too was present to support Shiamak Davar. She arrived straight from an art show in Mumbai.
Dishani Chakraborty accompanying her father is sort of a rare appearance, and she generally is not seen more often. Dishani stunned in a casual Western outfit, and was always under the watchful eyes of her papa. One look at this father-daughter, and without doubts one can say that Dishani is the apple of her papa’s eyes.
Shiamak Davar’s Selcouth, the one hour stage show is a far cry from his flashy Bollywood work and features, in his own words, pure form of dance and nothing but that. Selcouth as a dance form is sans props or any flamboyance and showcases a very spiritual side of Shiamak, something he has nurtured alongside dance.
The man who choreographed many Bollywood blockbusters songs and considers his fundamental purpose on earth is to take further dance as an art form. According to Shiamak, Selcouth means unusual and graduates of his One Year Intensive Certification Program (OYP) are performing on the avant-garde show. One can witness students who are aged between eighteen to twenty one, with insane levels of fitness, dexterity and a mad passion for the art.
With this show, Shiamak had the audience spell bound and he proved that with the right training and guidance, this is the magic that can be created.
The other celebrities that attended this dance show were Kiran Juneja, Varsha Usgaonkar who is in India for a holiday as she now stays in New York post her marriage, Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Hegde, fashion designer Neeta Lulla along with her husband Shyam Lulla, theatre personalities Aditya Hitkari and Divya Palat, producer Ritesh Sidhwani along with his wife Dolly Sidhwani, Anaita Shroff Adajania along with director husband Homi Adajania among others.[/tps_footer]
