Another star-studded India Bridal Fashion Week 2015 began yesterday with Sonam Kapoor as the showstopper at the opening ceremony in New Delhi.
With too much of oomph and glamour, Sonam Kapoor raised the curtain at the opening ceremony on August 7, 2015. The actress performed on dance performance on American singing sensation Lana Del Rey’s song “Will You Still Love Me’.
Donning two attires, Sonam Kapoor grabbed all the eyeballs with her elegant appearance on the ramp yesterday. Dressed in Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla outfits, Sonam Kapoor made stunning appearance on the day 1 of India Bridal Fashion Week 2015. The fashionista of Bollywood Sonam Kapoor was seen first in body hugging black and gold mirror gown with detailed Swarovski crystals, metallic gold sequins and beads.

The show and collection paid homage to Varanasi, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. She took the ramp by storm by ending the show in ruby red 10-kali net ghagra embroidered with gold metallic beads and Swarovski crystals, teamed with a blouse to match highlighted with 3 dimensional metallic gold beads; stylized with simple dupatta draped in layers edged with a gold koran lace border on the head, at the finale.
Sonam Kapoor at the event said, “I have grown up wearing Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, right from my first public appearance for my movie Saavariya to my recent one at Cannes 2015. Be it the anarkali or dhoti pants, they have created them all, way ahead of their time, making them a trend that they are today! I am delighted to have presented 2 gorgeous looks from their collection Varanasi (a place close to my heart since I have shot there). I had a great time today on the ramp flaunting their exciting creations.”
But Jani and Sandeep Khosla the collections showcased the rich legacy of silks, brocades, gold and silver thread work, carpet weaving that the city is renowned for. These magnificent traditional fabrics and motifs found new expression through their Couture.
