MUMBAI: Looks like legends are being forgotten in Bollywood. A couple of weeks back, when the legendary Pran passed away, not many big Bollywood stars went to pay their last respects. And now it’s a similar situation for Jagdish Raj.
Jagdish Raj is known as the actor who played the ‘stereotypical’ cop in over 144 films. If records mean anything, then the actor is already is in the Guiness Book Of World Records for playing the most typecast actor.
The actor shared huge respects amongst industry mates. But the scenario at his funeral was hard to believe. Leaving Rishi Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi and director David Dhawan, other Bollywood stars chose to give the last journey of Jagdish Raj a miss.
Also present at the funeral was daughter of Jagdish Raj, yesteryear actress Anita Raj. Anita Raj was last seen in the Tusshar Kapoor starrer, ‘Chaar Din Ki Chandini’ directed by Samir Karnik.
Jagdish Raj had played cops in films like ‘Silsila’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Gambler’, ‘Mazdoor’ amongst others. RIP Jagdish Raj.
Our condolences to Anita Raj and her family.
