[tps_footer]Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is back in its fourth season. CCL 4 was launched by the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Actors from television as well as film industry were all in high sprits promoting their respective teams.
The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is a non-professional men’s cricket league that is contested by eight teams. These teams have players from the film fraternity; both Bollywood as well as regional as well as actors from the television fraternity. Around two hundred celebrities from film industries across India participated in the inaugural event of the tournament.
Suniel Shetty, who is the captain of the Bollywood Team Mumbai Heroes said the tournament was a good opportunity for actors to relax and also showcase their sporty side.
“Cricket is a sport which we all enjoy. We are not professionals but we play as a team. There are various actors playing in our team,” said a very excited Sunil.
Celebrities like Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, Aftab Shivdasani with fiancé Nin Dusanj, Indian commentator Charu Sharma, Shruti Haasan who looked stunning in a black gown, designed by Shantanu and Nikhil, Dhanush, Vatsal Seth, Boney Kapoor, Manish Paul, Usha Uthup, Mahesh Manjrekar, Miss India 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan, Makrand Deshpande, Daggubati Venkatesh, Huma Qureshi who once again did the mistake of wearing a western outfit, Sonu Sood and Manoj Tiwari were seen at the event.
Dhanush, who enthralled everyone with his power-packed performance in Raanjhanaa said, “I really don’t know which team I am supporting but I just want to watch good cricket. Celebrity Cricket League is a great platform for all of us, to come together and develop a friendship. It is very nice to be here, I am very thrilled.”
The eight teams participating in the tournament are Kerala Strikers, Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Mumbai Heroes, Karnataka Bulldozers, Bengal Tigers, Bhojpuri Dabbangs and Veer Marathi.
