Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu And Others At Opening Ceremony Of Prithvi Theatre Festival

[tps_footer]The iconic Prithvi Theatre continues to evolve and serve as a focal point for theatre lovers of the nation. Located in the Juhu area of Mumbai, the theatre that is nothing short of a home for those who believe in the art, has been hosting the Prithvi Theatre Festival for a long time now. Following the tradition for years, the 2015 edition of the festival will begin today i.e., November 5, 2015 and go on till November 15.

Prithvi Theatre Festival’s the opening day witnessed few Bollywood big stars attending it. A clean-shaven dapper looking Saif Ali Khan walked in to the venue all suited up and greeted the paparazzi with a smile. Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan and brother-in-law Kunal Kemmu too arrived at the venue, flashing their smile to the shutterbugs. Other celebrities who attended the opening ceremony were actors Rishi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Dolly Thakore, Naseeruddin Shah with wife Ratna Pathak Shah, Kunal Kapoor and director Rohan Sippy.

The 10 days festival that starts today promises to give best theatre experience at one place. The festival also promises to feature multilingual plays that is spread across different genres and performance styles. The festival also features the Bollywood actress Lillete Dubey-directed play ‘Gauhar’, that stars television actress Rajeshwari Sachdev, who will be playing the role of the legendary singer, Gauhar Jaan. Rajeshwari will also be seen showcasing her Kathak skills on stage as a part of the play. Plays like ‘Bombay Dying’, ‘Ek Punjab Ye Bhi’, Makarand Despande’s Maa in ‘Transit’ and writer Manav Kaul’s ‘Peele Scooter Waala Aadmi’ will also be presented at the iconic festival.

Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor had inaugurated the iconic Prithvi Theatre in the memory of his father Prithviraj Kapoor 37 years ago on 5th November 1978. Witness all the great talents at one place.
