Salman Khan 2002 Hit And Run Case: Verdict Is Out!

Salman-Verdict-7 [tps_footer]13 years ago on September 28, 2002, Salman Khan’s car had met with an accident in suburban Bandra, killing one person and injuring four. 13 years after the trial began, Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case came to end on May 6 where session court found him guilty and sentenced him for five years jail, convicted under all charges. Two days later, sentence was suspended on May 8th and bail was granted.

Now, after months of hearing and arguments from both the sides, the Bombay High today on December 10, finally has given the verdict in Salman Khan‘s favour. The court today has stated that the prosecution failed to establish any evidence against Salman Khan and that the actor was driving under the influence of alcohol. On the basis of the evidence submitted by the prosecution, Salman Khan cannot be convicted, said judge while dictating final verdict today.

The court also questioned the credibility of the key prosecution witness of Salman Khan’s bodyguard Ravindra Patil who had said that the actor was driving drunk and had ignored his warnings. The court said, it was only Ravindra Patil who said it and that the case cannot be reliable only on it.

Also not questioning singer Kamaal Khan who was present in the car at the time of the accident was also an error, court said.

Finally, after a wait of 13 years, the final verdict is out and the actor is now a free man. Salman has been cleared of all the charges levied on him by the prosecution. Getting emotional over it and going through bad times since years, Salman Khan also broke down in the court. Also, the actor has to wait in the court till the bill bond of Rs 25, 000 is signed.[/tps_footer]
