A lot of people from the industry tried to get them together, but failed. However, this talented duo came together again after a long gap of thirty two years and launched the trailer of ‘Sholay 3D’ in Mumbai on Thursday, November 7, 2013.

FLASH BACK: This is why the split happened –
Salim and Javed had approached Amitabh Bachchan for Mr India, but he turned down the offer. An upset Javed reportedly told Salim that he didn’t want to work with the star again, it was a sentiment Salim didn’t share. At Amitabh’s Holi party a few days later, Javed let slip that Salim didn’t want to work with him. A blame game broke out between the two and they decided to part ways.
“You never know! There are possibilities that we may come together,” Javed Akhtar had said when questioned if he would want to team up with Salim Khan again.
On the other hand Salim Khan had said, “Difference of opinion always happen, but you can always sort that out.”
Sometime ago, both were in news because of the controversy over their film ‘Zanjeer’, but later they had an out of court settlement. Well, the film bombed at the Box Office, but this incident cemented the relationship between the two.
Looks like the duo have resolved their differences and there is no animosity between the two.
