[tps_footer]Yesterday, when Sanjay Dutt was released from the Yerwada Jail in Pune after 23 years, it marked to end of a traumatic period for the actor and start of a new beginning. The 56-year-old ‘Munnabhai’ was released after having served his five-year sentence for possessing illegal arms in the March 12th, 1993, Mumbai serial bomb blasts case. As expected, the actor’s friends, family and fans awere waiting with bated breath to welcome the ‘Khalnayak’. Not only did a popular eatery offer their signature dish ‘Chicken Sanju Baba’ for free, but his entire locality was decked for his homecoming.

What was new about the actor who is now an absolutely free man is that he was sporting a completely new look. The ‘Khalnayak’ was sporting a new hairstyle and the story behind is it very endearing. When he was asked about his newly acquired hairstyle, Dutt said that it was the work of a fellow convict. Mishra ji, from Dharavi who was lodged in the Yerwada Central Prison was given the task of a barber and he had insisted on giving Dutt a haircut once.He promised Dutt that he would give him the best hairstyle and Dutt was indeed impressed. Prisoner number 16656, Dutt had turned insomniac and hardly ate in the four days preceding his release.

Dutt, who was released from prison at 8.35 am, first did a shot for Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic that the director is making on Dutt. The actor kissed the ground, saluted in the general direction of the prison and the tricolour and then slung his bag on his shoulder.
