Bollywood actress Vidya Balan and Vinod Tawde, Minister of School Education inaugurated the event at the Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Handicrafts exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015. The actress was seen taking keen interest at all the beautiful work of art.
Actress Vidya Balan was invited as the special guest at this year’s Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Handicrafts exhibition in Mumbai. The actress donned a beautiful dual toned silk sari for the event with braided hairdo and jewellery from Amrapali.

Like everyone knows, Vidya has a soft spot for traditional attires and artwork, her admiration for Indian culture made her attend the exhibition where amazing artifacts, saris and other products were showcased.

Vidya Balan talked about her recent trip to Madhya Pradesh where her film Hamari Adhuri Kahani was declared tax free by the state government. To extend her gratitude the actress had visited the culturally rich state of MP.

Vidya further added that she met the exhibition organizer at Madhya Pradesh itself. And when she invited the actress for the opening of this year’s yearly exhibition, Vidya couldn’t say no.

The Dirty Picture star stated, “Madhya Pradesh handloom and handicraft ministry every year organize an exhibition here. Beautiful saris, textiles, fabrics everything is here.” Maheshwari, Chanderi, pure cottons were some of the types of products available.

The actress further talked about the other products like artifacts, terakota, goon painting and more. Vidya took a stroll around the entire art gallery looking at different artworks appreciating the artists.

“When they invited me I immediately came as I am very fond of saris. I am anyway visiting different places in search of saris so that is why I came here. And there is so much to see here that it is going to take lot of time,” says Vidya.

Vidya Balan‘s film Hamari Adhuri Kahani with Emraan Hashmi was recently released and fared well among the masses. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film is based on a mature love story between two enstranged lovers.

Showing emotional turmoil, chaos and distress in the married lives of the central characters, the film offers a budding romance between two long lost lovers played by Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan.

Produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, Hamari Adhuri Kahani also stars actors Rajkummar Rao, Sara Khan,Madhurima Tuli among others. According to some sources the story of Hamari Adhuri Kahani has been inspired by the real life love story of Mahesh Bhatt’s parents.
