MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently featured on the list of 100 Most Influential People prepared by Time magazine. And now the actor, in order to celebrate this success will fly to New York, where he may meet the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.

The actor is taking a three-day break from the busy shooting schedule of his next film, ‘Dhoom 3’ to attend the celebratory dinner to be held today evening, April 23, 2013. The first lady Michelle Obama had featured on the list along with Aamir Khan.

Aamir had met President Obama in 2010, when he visited India and had interacted with students of Mumbai. “It was a real honour to be part of such a distinguished gathering. It was a very dignified and tasteful affair. I was seated on the same table as Vishwanathan Anand (chess champion), who I am a big fan of. Mr Obama sent his regards to Kiran and said, ‘Tell her we missed her’. And Michelle Obama told me that she really enjoyed dancing to my song from ‘Rang De Basanti’,” Aamir had shared after the meeting of 2010.

Aamir’s television program ‘Satyamev Jayate’, challenged India’s deepest social ills, from sexual abuse to caste discrimination, domestic violence, medical malpractices, water harvesting and so on.

Aamir will be the face on the cover of the September edition of the magazine. A write up on Aamir, prepared by Oscar winning musician A.R. Rahman will also feature in the magazine. Aamir has been described wonderfully by the musician – he called the actor “straightforward” and a “man of his word.”
