MUMBAI: Balaji Motion Pictures’ ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj, and directed by Kannan Iyer, has seen a sluggish opening weekend. The film features Emraan Hashmi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles.
As reported earlier, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ managed a decent opening on 19 April, Friday, with collections in the range of Rs 55 million (5.5 crore) net, but has since dropped the pace.
In the opening weekend, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ has managed a meagre Rs 160 million (Rs. 16 crore). The biggest contributors to this business of ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ have been Mumbai, Delhi and U.P.
With such abysmal collections, it remains to be seen if ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ can salvage itself, and pick up the pace over the coming week and second weekend.
