Versatile actor Aamir Khan has grabbed the headlines by the trailer launch of his upcoming movie “Dangal” which has received mixed responses from the audience.
The actor who recently visited Bhutan amongst his busy schedule and left us all wondering to guess the reason for the same. The actor is a Regional Goodwill Ambassador of the UNICEF took out time from his hectic schedule to meet the children affected by malnutrition in Bhutan and to see what action is the organization taking to work towards the same.
In a recent interview when asked about the same to the actor he said ” “While Bhutan has made amazing progress in areas of health and nutrition, there’s still work to be done and every child is yet to be reached“.
According to the UNICEF, Stunting, caused by chronic malnutrition, is endemic in South Asia with an estimated 38 percent – 64 million – of children under five years of age affected by stunted growth, inhibiting children’s cognitive and physical development and damaging growth in the region. In Bhutan, despite recent progress, one in five children remains stunted.
That is what we would call a proper commitment. Aamir, you make us proud!
