Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan, has landed into a trouble. The film is facing troubles since a ban was imposed on Pakistani actors from working in India. In the wake of Uri terror attack, political parties came up with the decision that films with Pakistani actors will not be allowed to release in the country. Since then there has been a lot of heated debate if its right to ban the film or no. Even Karan Johar shared a video, requesting to allow the release of his film and also said that “he will not engage with talent from Pakistan hereafter.”
Well, somehow the controversy might affect the Box Office collection of the film and the result of the same will be out next week when the film releases. While the film is entangled with controversies and heated debate, here are some details about the budget of the film and how much the film needs to survive well at the Box Office.
As per reports, the cost of production is around Rs 70-75 crore, adding Rs 15 crore for print and publicity. That takes the total cost of the film to around Rs 85-90 crore. With crores of investment, the film has already covered Rs 30 crore from its satellite rights and the music. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has also covered Rs 10 crore from ancillary sources while the chartbuster status has been sold off for Ra 15 crore. So, till now the makers of the film have collected around Rs 55 crore. Now collecting the remaining Rs 35 crore would not be tough for the film, due to its hype and already in buzz songs.
But in order to be a hit film, the film has to at least collect between Rs. 70-90 crore by the weekend and if it crosses 100 crores, it will turn out to be a blockbuster. But then again, the film is clashing with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, so it wouldn’t be that easy for the film to turn out a blockbuster.
ADHM is releasing on October 28!
