Abhishek Bachchan And Tara Sharma Get Sporty With I Can

Abhishek-10[tps_footer]Abhishek Bachchan along with Tara Sharma recently kicked off the DNA I Can Women’s Half Marathon 2014 in Mumbai in order to celebrate the spirit of womanhood.

Abhishek Bachchan has worked with Tara Sharma in Anupam Kher’s directorial debut Om Jai Jagadish in the year 2002. Incidentally Om Jai Jagadish was Tara’s debut as well.  The film starred Anil KapoorUrmila MatondkarMahima Chaudhry and Fardeen Khan along with both Abhishek and Tara.

Tara Sharma got married to a film producer Roopak Saluja in November 2007, and is a mother of two sons; Zen and Kai.

At the event, Abhishek Bachchan interacted with his fans and said, “I don’t run a lot because of certain injuries during my school years when I was into sports. I do run a bit. I have always been envious of marathon runners because I can’t run long distances. I have always run shorter distances but running is very therapeutic.”

Abhishek Bachchan even did an impromptu jig with RJ Malishka and Tara Sharma on one of his songs. Also spotted at the event was health guru Mickey Mehta.

The DNA I Can Women’s Half Marathon 2014 was divided into three diverse events, namely, Half Marathon of 21 kilometer, Spirit Run of 10 kilometer and the Fun Run of 5 kilometer, which has seen enthusiastic entries from thousands of Mumbai women.

Neelam Rajput won The DNA I Can Women’s Half Marathon 2014 followed by Supriya Patil and Rijawana Kakeri in the 21 kilometer run. The 10 kilometer run was won by Heena Mali, followed by Jyoti Punjabi and Nina Hamre. In the 5 kilometer category, Snehal Shinde was the winner with Priyanka Ingale and Pranita Bandi finishing behind her.

The inaugural DNA I Can Women’s Half Marathon in 2012 was considered a breakthrough event as it gave women a platform to make a difference by supporting a cause and celebrate the spirit of achievement.
