Ahead of Home’s Release, Campa Cola Case Faces Another Turn

In a recent development, the Campa Cola case which has been ongoing in the court for years has witnessed another turn in the story. Interestingly, ALTBalaji’s upcoming web series ‘Home’ directed by Habib Faisal is loosely based on the infamous case.

Having been in a litigation with BMC since 2005, the residents of the Campa Cola Compound have been struggling to acquire the possession of their flats. The struggle has further worsened as BMC has now terminated the lease orders of Pure Drinks Ltd have been terminated.

Therefore, now the land that earlier belonged to the Pure Drinks Ltd, is now acquired by BMC.

In 1955, BMC leased the land of Campa Cola Compound to Pure Drinks Ltd to develop the land for residential purposes. However, mid-way in the construction, BMC ordered to stop the work as the builders built high rise buildings.

Since 2005 residents of the building have been in a litigation with BMC, trying to prevent the authorities from razing the building.

A similar struggle of residents is showcased in the upcoming ALTBalaji series ‘Home’ wherein a middle-class family saves through their life to build their home however due to the misconduct of a few corrupt builders face a threat to entire being with a threat to their home.

The recently released heart-tugging trailer of ‘Home’ has touched upon the lives of the audience as it depicted the wrath faced by a family due to the misconduct of corrupt builders who lose their livelihood in a matter of seconds as the court orders to demolish their building.

Home is set to resonate with every Indian who dreams to have their own shelter and is loosely based on the true events revolving around the Campa Cola Compound Case.

Directed by Habib Faisal, ‘Home’ stars Annu Kapoor, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Amol Parashar, Parikshit Sahni in lead roles.

The 12 episode show will be streaming on the ALTBalaji app and the website from 29th August.
