The legal traumas for our B-Town stars seem to be never ending. After Salman Khan’s hit and run case, Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL trouble due to Forex violation and Aamir Khan who recently got relief from the Lagaan case; the new celebrity to witness a legal trouble is Akshay Kumar.
The always on the right side of the lane Akshay Kumar has landed in a legal trouble along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the film Gabbar Is Back. The movie Gabbar Is Back which focuses on the most tantalizing issue of corruption has become a trouble for both the celebrities.
Both Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are given a legal notice by the Indian Medical Association demanding the removal of a scene in the movie which shows the medical profession in a derogatory manner.
The scene in the movie which showcases doctors performing a medical treatment on an already dead person has provoked the people and has made the onlookers suspicious about the noble profession.
In relation to the following case, an official from IMA said, “In accordance with the Cinematograph Act, 1952, and other provisions of law, the director, producer and actor are under the obligation and responsible so that no scene from the movie incites commission of any offence.”
The IMA has also sent a notice to the Censor Board to ban the film immediately till the controversial scene related to the medical profession is deleted. The IMA has also demanded a compensation of 5 crore for harming the profession’s reputation and a written apology to the doctors in a national newspaper.
