MUMBAI: Fusion’s the latest flavour of the season in Bollywood. No wonder the ‘Fusion awards’ held in the city were such a big hit with our B’town celebrities.
The Fusion awards were to celebrate excellence in cinema and sports, and we caught up with none other than macho man Akshay Kumar. Akshay, whose middle name could well be ‘Khiladi’ was seen at the fusion awards held at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, and he even managed to bag the ‘Excellence in Entertainment’ award.
Looking sharp in a black suit, the He-Man of Hindi Cinema said a few words about the state of affairs and the issues plaguing sport in our country: “It is very important that what our sports is going through is in a very bad state. I am just tired of cricket now and want something else to come out of this country.”
Also seen at this eclectic awards night was Vidya Balan, glowing in a pale grey khadi sari. Though her ensemble was staid and sober, we couldn’t help noticing her post-wedding glow, and we must say Vidya looked incredibly happy to be Mrs. Siddharth Roy Kapur. The power-house actress was joined by Raveena Tandon, who is (hold your breath) Akshay’s ex-girlfriend from the 1990’s. Though the two came face-to-face, there was no awkwardness on either side. We guess the stars have learnt to let bygones be bygones; considering they’re both happily married to other people now. Raveena looked chic in a simple black jumpsuit and an oversized pink hobo bag.
We caught a glimpse of director Vikram Bhatt, Poonam Dhillon, television’s Shekhar Suman and ace filmmaker Sudhir Mishra.
