The entire Indian cinema, as well as fans, were shaken with the news of the death of veteran actor Vinod Khanna. The actor, who had an incredible journey in the industry, passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 70 after a prolonged illness.
Bollywood celebrities Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff with his wife, Subhash Ghai, Rishi Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, director Gulzar and many others have arrived at the crematorium in Worli to pay their final respects to actor Vinod Khanna. Bollywood actor and Vinod Khanna’s son Akshaye Khanna was also seen arriving to pay the last respects.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan, who was once a rival of Vinod Khanna at the professional front, reportedly walked out of an interview to be by later veteran actor’s family’s side. According to reports, he was giving an interview for his upcoming film Sarkar 3, and as soon as he heard the sad demise of the actor, he walked out.

On the other hand, Karan Johar as a mark of respect has cancelled the premiere shows of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The filmmaker took to Twitter and wrote, “As a mark of respect to our beloved Vinod Khanna the entire team of Baahubali has decided to cancel the premiere tonight…”
Starting his career with minor roles in 1969, Vinod Khanna built up a hugely successful career and featured in some of the biggest Bollywood hits like “Mere Apne”, “Insaaf” “Parvarish” “Muqaddar Ka Siqandar”, “Qurbani”, “Dayavaan”, “Mera Gaon Mera Desh” “Chandni” “The Burning Train” and “Amar, Akbar, Anthony” among many more
In 1982, at the peak of his film career, Khanna temporarily quit the film industry to follow his spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh.After a five-year hiatus, he returned to the Hindi film industry giving two back to back hit films Insaaf and Satyamev Jayate. The last film he appeared in was Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
Vinod was a sitting Bharatiya Janata Party member of the Lok Sabha from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab.
