[tps_footer]Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray and Superstar Amitabh Bachchan came together for an event launching medical insurance for cine workers.  The event was held on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Raj Thackeray’s party’s movie industry wing. They were given a rousing welcome amid beating of drums and cymbals.

It’s been almost after a long gap of five years that both Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray shared dais with Amitabh Bachchan, thus burring their differences.  The relationship between Raj Thackeray and Amitabh Bachchan had soured after the actor faced flak from Mr. Thackeray for acting in Bhojpuri movies and becoming the ambassador of Uttar Pradesh.

Raj Thackeray was all praises for this living legend as he spoke at the seventh anniversary of his party’s movie industry wing Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (MNCKS) at the Shanmukhananda Hall in Central Mumbai and was addressing the cine workers wing of his party. He stated that Mr. Bachchan belonged to the whole of India, and one should not forget the past and look at the future.

The MNS chief said, “I had met Bachchanji at Balasaheb’s funeral and at actor Sachin’s party. I had said this earlier and am saying it again that there was never a bigger actor ever, nor will there be one again and I stand by my earlier words that Amitabhji cannot be the brand ambassador of one state, he belongs to the whole of India. The people of Maharashtra love him like the people of other states. Today, I want to say this much only that let’s immerse whatever happened in the past, in the Ganga, which also flows through UP.”

Raj Thackeray even said that just like citizens of Allahabad love Amitabh Bachchan, so do people of Maharashtra. Like the entire nation loves and respect Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar they also love and respect Amitabh Bachchan. He also mentioned that an actor of Mr. Bachchan’s stature has not dawned on the screen in the past hundred years in the country and probably never would even in the future.

Mr. Bachchan started his speech in by addressing the audience in Marathi. He congratulated and thanked Raj Thackeray for initiatives that he has taken and one of them was the life insurance policy for backstage artistes.

At the event life insurance policies were handed over to ten veteran artistes.
